Husband of Mrs. Corthaut Caroline, father of 8 children, ironworker by profession, was born in St Truiden, the 15th of July 1900 and lived at Vissegatstraat, 3.
In the so patriotic Schuurhovenwijk, which was hit so hard, Bert was in contact with the men of the "Churchill-Club" –N.K.B. and later A.S. Fate also came upon him that unfortunate May 25, 1943.
Hell from Breendonk, from Essen, then Esterwegen all over Börgermoor to Gross-Strehlitz and then again to Laband. Always on to the unknown, but still to an increasingly well-known same abuse. However, Bert was not made out of any small rumor, yet it was too hard for him too; who would be resistant to the supernatural.
The convoy left Laband, would Bielen have been there? And where did it go? His fellow sufferers also don't know.
Albert died in Buchenwald on April 30, 1945.
Brouwersgast and junkman, lived at Vissegatstraat 7. He was born in St Truiden, June 6, 1917. In the "Resistance Nest" of Vissegatstraat, Lommeke was the good Group Superior of the White Brigade. It was planned and arranged against when the "big day" would come. The day of the betrayal came: May 5, 1943.
Coopmans died of death from Breendonk to Gross-Strehlitz in Upper Silesia over Esterwegen. However, he would insist, he wanted; but the hardships were too great, the beatings too severe. Guillaume became ill, seriously ill, no speech from proper treatments; the other Truienaren, his fellow sufferers, helped as much as they could, to no avail: on August 6, 1944 Guillaume died in the infirmary of the correctional house in Gross-Strehlitz.
